ØTo develop the technologies on postharvest handling, storage, processing, preservation, packaging and quality evaluation of BARI mandated crops.

ØUp-scaling the current best PH technologies for future.

ØAssists to create Agribusiness and Agro-processing job opportunities for rural people/stakeholders.

Objectives of the Division

ØTo asses postharvest losses and to identify the prioritize areas for research intervention for minimizing losses.

ØTo identify/develop/improve appropriate maturity indices/technologies for fruits and vegetables, its transportation, packaging, processing and preservation technology for farmers, traders and exporters level.

ØTo study the quality of both fresh and processed agricultural produces / products to increase shelf life with retaining quality.

ØHelps to increase income generation for the rural poor and agribusiness by training/providing simple processing techniques.
