E-agriculture and E-governance

 Upload BARI-developed agricultural technology information at the BARI web
portal ( www.bari.gov.bd )
 Update and maintain the BARI-developed “Krishi Projukti Vander” (web
version and mobile app)
 Provide an answer to the queries received from the end-users related to BARI
technology and the variety through the web app
 Establish a modern e-filing system at all levels to make a paperless
environment at BARI
 Creating web-mail accounts for BARI scientists and officers under its domain
(mail.bari.gov.bd)
 Provide 24 hours internet facilities via LAN and Wi-Fi at BARI HQ and other
outer stations.
 Provide technical support to scientists and officials to conduct a virtual
meeting using Zoom Platform through Distance Collaboration Center (DCC)
powered by Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN)
 Making plans and implementing the need-based modern innovation
programs/digital services as per APA and 4IR vision and mission

Research Activities

 Conduct GIS and remote sensing-based agricultural research activities
 Conduct research activities on OMICS data/crop bioinformatics related to
BARI-mandated crops
 Conduct various research activities related to agricultural statistics

Human Resource Development

 Provide training on different statistical software/programming languages (R,
SAS, Python, SPSS etc.)
 Imparting training on biometrical software and genomic databases,
bioinformatics tools/software, and big data analysis
 Provide training on computer troubleshooting, operating systems (Windows,
Linux etc.), MS Office and ICT-related tools

Others Services

 Maintain and expand LAN and Wi-Fi to make available the internet/ICT
facilities to all scientists/officers of BARI
 Provide technical support to scientists/officers in using ICT tools via MIS Lab,
Website Lab, Biometrical Lab, and Distance Collaboration Center (DCC) at
BARI HQ and other outer stations
 Help scientists, officials and other users operate the BARI-developed digitized
service (web portals, apps, databases etc.)
